Tunnelling & Timber Headings

Timber heading is commonly used when there is a large number of services in the line of the pipe work preventing a traditional open cut method. The heading is constructed by hand using timber sets to support the excavation, the pipeline is fed through the tunnel by hand, installed and then packed with concrete.
